Itinerary

Day 1

8:00 Departure from the San Miguel del Bala office, heading to the port of Rurrenabaque by motorized boat through the extensive Beni River (approximately 45 minutes) to the ecolodge of the community of San Miguel del Bala.

9:30 Visit to the beautiful Tacana San Miguel indigenous community, to share the experiences with its members who dedicate their lives to protect the jungles, rivers and forests, different activities will be carried out where you will learn from your daily life, its magnificent traditions and customs. In the community you can weave with palm leaves and squeeze a delicious cane juice using the “trapiche”, an ancient juicer.

12:30 Return to the ecolodge to enjoy a delicious lunch and a good rest.

15:00 Visit to the magnificent canyon of the Bala of natural stones, which has more than 150 meters long, a place of particular natural beauty. To reach this incredible tourist attraction we have two options, the first is by means of a beautiful 3-hour hike enjoying the beautiful landscape from San Miguel del Bala and the second option is sailing the Beni river for approximately 15 minutes to later walk for 10 minutes and arrive to the canyon Then you will return to the ecolodge by boat.

19:00 You will enjoy a delicious dinner.

Day 2

7:30 A delicious breakfast accompanied by tropical bird songs.

8:30 You will walk and explore through the jungle where the guide will connect you with the incredible nature and take you back in time showing you ancient methods of capturing wild animals used by the Tacana. You will also enjoy a walk through the jungle observing species of animals and knowing paths of medicinal plants, in which your guide will share your knowledge related to the cure of diseases based on natural medicine.

10:30 Explore a beautiful waterfall that forms a natural pool with delicious crystalline waters where you can enjoy a refreshing and refreshing bath in the middle of the beautiful nature, to reach this waterfall you will make a bed by means of a path for 40 minutes to which we will arrive by boat sailing on the Beni river for approximately 15 minutes.

12:30 Return to the ecolodge to taste an exquisite buffet lunch, rest and prepare to visit the hostel Caquiahuara.

14:30 Navigating the extensive waters of the Beni River for approximately 2.5 hours to enter the Madidi National Park (protected area with the greatest biodiversity in the world) until we reach our second ecolodge “Caquiahuara” on the banks of the Tuichi River. During this journey you can enjoy wonderful landscapes and observe wild animals.

19:00 Enjoy a delicious dinner at the ecolodge “Caquiahuara”.

Day 3

6:00 We will observe beautiful macaws in their natural habitat. After a short boat trip you will walk 20 minutes through the jungle to reach the “parabal”, a rocky wall approximately 30 meters high where red-blue parabas nest. A climb to the top of the “parabal” offers a unique view over the Madidi National Park.

8:30 You will enjoy a rich breakfast.

9:30 Sail along the Tuichi river in a typical raft (traditional rafting) made of jungle materials. During this fun activity you can cool off in the clear waters of the Tuichi River enjoying the natural environment.

12:30 Return to the ecolodge “Caquiahuara” where you will enjoy lunch followed by a short break.

14:30 Walk through the amazing depths of Madidi National Park in search of wild animals such as different species of monkeys, wild pigs, reptiles and countless bird species. Your guide will share your knowledge about flora and fauna during your walk.

18:30 Back at the ecolodge you will enjoy an exquisite dinner preparing for a night out to the jungle.

20:00 Night walk to appreciate the jungle at night enjoying the view of alligators on the river bank and possibly species of nocturnal animals such as the night monkey, tapirs, deer or armadillos. Return to the ecolodge to rest.

Day 4

7:30 You will enjoy an exquisite breakfast to later make a boat trip on the Tuichi river to practice sport fishing (pacú, catfish, painted, surubí among others).

12:00 Enjoy a delicious lunch or when you are successful in fishing you can enjoy a delicious fish dish prepared in a typical Tacana way using bamboo and leaves from the region.

14:00 Return by boat to Rurrenabaque, down the Tuichi and Beni rivers. The transfer will take approximately 1.5 hours to reach Rurrenabaque at 4:30 p.m.
